Suzhou Industrial Park (SIP)

SIP covers a total jurisdiction area of 288 sq km, among which 80 sq km area belongs to China-Singapore cooperative zone. As the eastern new township of Suzhou city, SIP will be built into a modern new township and CBD of Suzhou.

Geographic Location
It's one hour's ride to Shanghai via Shanghai - Nanjing Expressway and two hours' ride to Nanjing, the provincial capital of Jiangsu.
The SIP Exit at the Shanghai - Nanjing Expressway leads directly to the Park. Airports in Shanghai (Hongqiao and Pudong) are about one hour's drive from SIP. State Highways 204, 312 and 318, as well as Suzhou-Jiaxing-Hangzhou Express Way, link major cities such as Shanghai, Hangzhou and Nanjing.
The national Beijing - Shanghai Railway serving both passengers and freight passes through Suzhou, an ancient city with 2,500 years' history and splendid culture.
Achievements on Development
SIP maintained a sustainable annual average economic growth of 30%. With around only 4% of the total land and population, 7% of the industrial electricity, SIP contributes about 15% of Suzhou's GDP, local general budgeted revenue and fixed asset investment, approximately 25% of the total registered foreign capital, paid-up foreign capital and about 30% of the gross import and export volume.
Gathering of International Capital
By the end of June 2008, SIP has attracted over 3299 foreign enterprises, including 77 Fortune 500 MNCs with cumulative contractual foreign investment of USD 33.96 billion, and domestic companies with total contractual investment of RMB 129.57 billion. There are a number of companies with annual sales revenue of over USD 1 billion. 70% of the companies have gone into operation and production. 80% of the companies in production for over two years are profitable and amongst them nearly a quarter have recouped their investments.
Clustering of Superior Industries
There has been rapid clustering of IC, TFT-LCD, automotive and aeronautical parts and other leading industries, and swift emergence of software, outsourcing services, biopharmaceutical, nanotech industry, etc.
SIP emphasizes "human-oriented" philosophy and highlights economic development, technological progress and the harmony between human and nature.
